The short history of this game has been oriented around raising money for charity as much as earning a Guinness World Record.
In 2007, the St. Louis game raised $100,000 for the Gene Slay’s Boys’ Club of St. Louis. The 2008 game raised approximately $40,000 for prostate cancer research and the 2009 game raised $140,000 for the Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center.
The 2012 game is being played for the St. Louis area BackStoppers; an organization that supports the families of police officers, firemen and other first responders killed in the line of duty.
